This book was excellent as it had fight scenes, sex scenes, a very good vs bad plot, lots of fast-paced action, lots of characters from all of the previous books in this series coming together to fight & the making of new friends who also came out to not only fight the Malcontents but to also find Robbie who was kidnapped.

Vanda was 1 of the many vampire women that had been in Roman's Harem before he met & married Shanna but after the Harem disbanded Pamela, Cora Lee & Vanda opened up a night club for vampires & everything had been going great for awhile. But, as Vanda has a temper she was called by the Coven (a Vampire one) to defend herself against several complaints that were against her & her temper from ex-employees. While there she was told that she had to take the anger management class again but this time with a different sponsor; at 1st though no one volunteered to sponsor her & then Phil Jones said that he would. She wasn't happy about that because of her attraction to him.

Phil Jones has worked for MacKay S & I as a day guard ever since he was banished from his pack & those at MacKay have kept his secret for years; though Jean-Luc & friends in Texas found out about his secret when Heather had been kidnapped along with himself & in order to save her & buy time for the sun to set & Jean-Luc to find them he had to give his secret away. Phil has been in love with Vanda for years but he was told that it was forbidden to have a relationship with those he was guarding over & he stayed true to that until now. Vanda also doesn't know his secret until later in this book.

I just love these books. They are filled with humor, excitement, throw in a little mystery and adventure. Fantastic reads I have all of 1-6 so far and planning on getting the rest. All the characters crossover to the stories. Lovely reading.
I can keep this simple, its great entertainment! These books are not meant to be deep drama but they do manage to have great action/adventure plots with a healthy dose of humor added. Don't read them out of order , but don't miss any of them they are all great books for easy and entertaining reading pleasure, Ms Sparks manages to have just the right amount of action, humor, sex and romance. So many of this genre are just sex with a cover story, you can enjoy this series and still have a brain )
Vanda has been apart of the Love At Stake series from the being. She was apart of Romans harem and now owes her own night club the Horny Devil. Phil is head of Security during the day guarding the Vamps during their death sleep. It was revealed in one of the other books that Phil was a Shape Shifter, a Werewolf. I do not like books about Shape Shifters and Werewolves. Humans making love to part animals was way out of my legue, vampires are humans; dead but human, so I love reading about them because they are very senual and romatic beings!! I could not see that in shape shifters UNTIL PHIL, HE IS SENSUAL, HOT, SEXY, ROMANTIC, AND DANGERIOUSLY PROTECTIVE OF HIS MATE VANDA, WHO IS A BEAUTIFUL, RESOURCFUL, INDEPENDENT, VIOLENT, HOT TEMPERED VAMPIRE, BUT PHIL MAKES HER PURR LIKE A CAT!!! WHEN YOU FINALLY GET TO THE LOVE SCENES THAT ARE OFF THE CHART WHOA! HOT! HOT!HOT! Phil is my exception to humans making love to part animals and part human, but this for me is were it ends!! Well done Ms. Sparks, you craked a hole in my opinions of shape shifters mating with humans!!!
First off I so love this series!! This book is another great installment in this series, Phil and Vanda are great together. I so loved Vanda's snappy attitude and found myself laughing at points in this one! The action was wonderful and kept me turning the pages, I finished this one in 2 settings!! Thank you Mrs. Sparks for creating such an amazing series, and for sharing it with us your readers!!!!!!
I absolutely love this series and this latest book is a welcomed addition. I like the world that has been created within and I am glad to see some more of the shifters and how they fit in as more than just daytime bodyguards. The school is progressing nicely in the background as well. I anticipate it will become the focus in a future book.

Just like all the other books in the series you will find witty humor, innuendos and smooth written love scenes. The book reads quickly and I admit I cried at the end. Good tears of course!

Vanda has always been a favorite of mine and Phil was the perfect Alpha male to tame and sooth her wildcat spirit.
So, I started the series all wrong. I started with Eat, Prey, Love before I knew it was a series. I loved that book and really was not lost at all having not read the others. But I liked it so much that I went back and started with Book 1. I have to say my favorites in the series are Shanna and Roman's story, Vanda and Phil's and the last book so far in the series which is Carlos' story (Eat, Prey, Love). Haven't read Robby's story yet though, so we'll see. I really didn't get doing the books about some of the less prevalent characters such as Jean Luc, and Jack, but they were okay. I really enjoyed this book because there was a lot of background history offered on Phil and Vanda. I loved how the book ended with closure for both characters and ties in their family history as well.
A policeman would normally have a 20-25 yr career keeping the peace......but a Vamp fights evil for centuries. Just thinking of the toll that takes is overwhelming. Each lost so much when they were turned then more as time goes on yet each is wise enough to create a new family of close friends. The special school keeps expanding and for the best reasons. Loved the ending!
