Just For Now Escape to New Zealand Book 3 eBook Rosalind James

I wanted to read this book when I saw the reviews, but no one mentioned how erotica it was. I am no prude, but a blow by blow sexual scene told over and over and over, going overboard.
Why do it? I think a bit of going into the bedroom, closing the door, would suffice. However, I do take exception of heavy duty sexual scenes with Jenna being a Nanny and he the employer a bit much with two little children, age 7 and 5, a bit much. So disappointing. Sorry. I did give it a three stars, but with the sexual stuff, that was a stretch. I paged over those repeated torrid scenes to get to the meat of the story, but I wish the Reviews would have said it was highly toxic with sex and I would have passed.

Just For Now Escape to New Zealand Book 3 eBook Rosalind James Reviews

Rugby romance YES YES YES you betcha I grabbed it

Does rugby excite me much, yes it does. The game is invigorating and the men are smoking hot- bonus ! Finn the main character an an All Black, is perfect example. he's tall, hot, smart, lovable, and a family man. Did I mention he's an All Black ? < fans self > Well his family is a bit broken and he needs a nanny for a short while. The nanny he find is a 29 year old teacher who is looking for a simple break from real life to get herself back on her feet before moving on to a new job and location. Her life and heart are a bit broken as well. The first meeting goes way off the mark, Oi does it. Great kids draw her back to the job, he even has great kids ! Snark, sparks and sweet moments fill the pages. How can I not love a romance of two great people healing their wounds ?
I am buying the rest of this series
I liked this story! It took me a while to get used to the lingo, other than that this was a decent and at times a wordy read.

Jenna, an American living in New Zealand for quite a few years experiences heartbreak upon finding her husband and his lover in their marital bed. This inspired her to start living, she lost weight and traveled throughout New Zealand taking odd jobs to support herself.

Jenna ends up in Auckland, staying with a friend and it was in the newspaper there that she saw an ad that Fin had placed looking for a temporary live-in Nanny to care for his two children Harry, five and Sophie who is seven years old.

I liked Fin, he just said what he meant- honest, earnest and straight forward, treated everyone well and enjoyed simple pleasures. He adored his children and I loved the relationship he had with them. Jenna was scarred from her prior relationship, but Fin was patient with her and I loved that he patiently took her out of her shell.

I would read more from this author.
I have never been to New Zealand but I feel like I've gone on an amazing trip courtesy of this book. The language is interwoven but throughout the book and acts as another character.
We meet Jenna having suffered a huge embarrassment in her marriage. After getting her life together again, she reluctantly becomes the nanny to a big time rugby star.
As an American living in New Zealand, Jenna's not current on the stars of the sport and Finn embarrasses himself at her job interview assuming she's after him to become his next wife. It works itself out and Jenna and his 2 children get along very well. Enough so that Finn starts to look at Jenna in a different light.
You can imagine what happens next (it is a romance after all) but this was a glorious read full of drama, high emotions and great sex. I'm going to now read some other books in this series and I'm sure I will enjoy them as well.
Apart from being set in New Zealand (En Zed), the novel is full of NZ dialogue, phrases and Moari songs/sayings), yet the romantic tale followed one of the emotionally rescued damsel, who blossomed sexually and emotionally in the woman of the man's dreams. But it's then you realize that English can be vastly different across this planet. I had to actually determine the meanings of many strange words as they were used in context, like 'togs and jandals', because the Kiwi dictionary did not appear until the novel's end on my ebook reader. Life would have been simplistic, but not as much fun.

The story was about Jenna, who once a chubby, verbally abused and neglect throughout her childhood, mid-thirties, American/ teacher, who emigrated to NZ with her boyfriend, Jeremy( now her openly, gay, ex-husband), as she applied for a nanny position, post divorce. This job position was, unknown to her, at a famous, single parent, All Black, NZ Rugby player, Finn's, home to care for his two kids, Sophie and Harry, for six months, as he has to travel a great deal for his away professional games and daily strenuous practices, when at home. Their rough start transition from nanny and excellent cook to repressed, emergent lover, to impregnated employee to wife and 'mum' to his two kids. They both had similar former marriage history, and could relate to each other's plight.
Great character development and an interesting plot with a deep look into NZ rugby, and the 'not so easy' life of a professional athlete. The dialogue was interesting to decode, from an American point of view, and the athletes' professional conduct rules are truly enforced by mentorship and supervision. The NZ athletes were admirable, especially as US professionals athletes literally get away with sexual abuse and murder, with the pervasive 'boys will be boys' attitude that is rampant throughout US society, like the occurrence in the 2016 Olympics held in Brazil, with the US swim team and Ryan Lochte. The recipes were an extra bonus to the novel's conclusion.
Definitely a series to follow in 2017! Great Read!

1/1/17.
